Emily's Mission Visit
Pictures |
|
On Wednesday, March 27, 2002, I visited Mission San Gabriel (9
miles from downtown Los Angeles). Here are pictures from that
visit. When I went to
Mission San Gabriel I saw many interesting things. On my visit I also
learned a lot. I learned that over 600 graves were of Indians in the
cemetery. Also that people back then used things they had made to
make their own supplies. It took one day to make one bar of
soap. Of course, they made more than one soap bar in one day.
Seeing the mission in person helped me to understand what life must have
been like for the padres and also the Indians. Mission San Gabriel is very
beautiful. It was a fun visit and I was able to take these pictures
with a digital camera. I hope that this web page helps you to see the
inner workings of a mission. |
