Introduction

Have you ever wondered what it was like when our grandparents were second graders like you?  Well, here is your to glimpse into their childhood.  Are you ready to explore their time?  On your mark, get set…. go!

Task

Students will learn about the differences between their grandparents and themselves by completing a "Glimpse of the Past" questionnaire and Venn Diagram.

For an extra challenge you can do a family tree from you to your grandparents.

 Process

To complete the assignment you will need to follow these steps.

  1. Print off "Glimpse of the Past "questionnaire and Venn diagram, fill out student portion (minimum of 11 questions) Sample
  2. Interview grandparents to complete grandparent responses on questionnaire (parent may be used).
  3. On your Venn diagram, from the data collected, put the items you have in common in the middle, then put the differences under individual names.

Conclusion

As children we may or may not have similarities to our grandparents.  But it is a fact that certain things are in every generation. “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”
