Introduction:

    Stellaluna, the bat, is  missing and her mother is franticly trying  to find her. She has come to you, the famous School House Investigators, to find her daughter.

Task:

After reading Stellaluna, your task is to find Stellaluna. You must search out all probable locations where a young bat like Stellaluna might wander . To do this, you must research what kind of bat Stellaluna is and the kinds of areas or environment where a young bat lives. You can decide how many points you can earn.  Use the Bat Fact Rubric below to see what you need to do to earn those points.

Process:

Step 1)    First you must identify what kind of bat Stellaluna is. To do this, look at the following six types of bats and their characteristics at the following websites for information and pictures.

Step 2)    Now that you are familiar with these different types of bats, click on the following link to the Bat Chart & Bat Challenge  and print the Bat Chart and Bat Challenge. Complete the bat chart to earn your points in this assignment.

Step 3)    Complete the Bat Challenge to test your knowledge of bats. When done you are ready to find Stellaluna.
